Meldon since 1949
The history of Meldon Plastics begins in 1949, when Johannes van Melzen and Eugene Donné start setting up a business for treating copper wire. When the Municipality of Bergen signs a contract with these two gentlemen in April 1950, the company is officially up and running. The business flourishes, but very soon the founders develop conflicting views, and Donné establishes his own business, while Van Melzen formally becomes the director of Handelsonderneming Meldon in 1954. However, after engaging Joseph Zeekaf, Van Melzen introduces him as the face of the family business. Zeekaf is appointed as Technical Director in 1961, and later actually becomes the owner. Today, his son, Marco Zeekaf (62) is the CEO of Meldon Plastics.

Meldon always aims to deliver high-grade extruded profiles of the very best quality. Excellence in quality is in fact an aspect of Meldon’s mission. Meldon has ISO 9001:2015 certification. In addition, Meldon was certified for IATF 16949:2016 QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY IN 2020. This certification emphasizes the development of a process-oriented quality management system to guarantee continual improvement, defect prevention and reduction of deviance and waste in the supply chain. IATF 16949:2016 lays down QMS standards for businesses involved in the manufacture of cars, services and accessories.
